Kidney Stone – How & Why that everyone should know

The chemical in urine forms stone that may stay in the kidney or might travel down the urinary tract into the ureter. At times it just exits the body through urine and will not cause much pain. But sometimes it can get serious if it blocks the passage of urine.

How the stone is formed?

As we all know, urine flushes waste out of our body with it and this complete process is controlled by the kidney. The kidney filters blood to excrete waste in form of urine. Now, when the water content is less the waste forms crystals. These crystals attract other elements and join together to form a solid that will get larger unless it is passed out of the body with the urine. Enough liquid i.e., more water easily flushes out the waste. The problem arises when there is less liquid to help in dissolving the waste which in turn results in stone.

Why stone is formed?

Well, an unhealthy lifestyle is surely the culprit with less water intake. Here it is important to understand that water is not just H2O but in fact, the liquid diet which includes juices, soups, and buttermilk, etc. They all meet the liquid requirement of our body which is much needed.

Also, an inactive lifestyle with little or no exercise leading to obesity can cause problem of kidney stones. Not just this, many a times even the weight loss surgery can embellish your body with unwanted stones. Along with this, eating food with too much salt or sugar, infections, and family history might be a reason of stones in some people.
